Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do people really dress up?

A: YES. Take some time and look at the photos page on this website. Teams go all out and you will feel more out of place if you are not in a team themed outfit than if you are. Visit the Awards section for more proof.

Q: How much do I have to drink?

A: If your team was to go all they way to the championship and each round along the way went to 5 to 7 games, you would probably drink 7-8 beers over the course of 6 hours. The more likely scenario is that your team will be eliminated after 3-4 rounds and you will consume 2-3 beers over the course of 2-3 hours. You control the pace of your drinking in between games.

Q: What time does the event end, and should I drive home?

A: NO. NO. NO. You should not plan on driving home. Don't be stupid and ruin a great day by getting a DUI. Every team should plan to be dropped off before the event and take a cab home or make arrangements to be picked up at some point. The event usually ends around 6:00 and then everyone heads over to Glueks for the post party.

Q: Can I just come and watch?

A: Absolutely. However, you are subject to the same entry fee that the rest of the participants are. You are able to eat and drink for free, the only difference between you and the contestants is that they are flipping cups around. Besides, we are trying to raise money for a good cause here!

Q: What type of cups do you use?

A: The official cup of the Tourney is a 16 oz. Solo cup. Like the kind most of you used for you keggers in High School.

Q: Do I have to behave myself?

A: YES. We are very thankful that the Sneaky Pete's lets us use their establishment. Make sure to respect the bar and their employees at all times. You may and will be asked to leave if you get out of control.

Q: Will there be hard liquor available?

A: No. There is enough drinking going on and we don't need the hard stuff before 5:00 anyway. Team Shots will simply have to wait until we head to Glueks after the Tourney.
